Another five city addresses: still CMRAs, still not a lease
A Dallas or San Francisco PMB is a staffed mail center on a map, not a tax election and not a bank-approval charm. Networks list locations in all five of these cities. Inventory turns over. Open the provider’s finder and read that row’s monthly price, scan fees, and whether pickup is allowed before you print letterhead.
The first city list covers NYC, Austin, Miami, Chicago, and Seattle. The second covers Los Angeles, Houston, Denver, Phoenix, and Atlanta. This page is the same job for a third five.
Who covers these cities
| City | Anytime Mailbox | iPostal1 | Others |

Traveling Mailbox: not a Dallas hub. |

| Portland, OR | Dedicated city slug /portland-or returned 404 on 31 Aug 2026. Oregon listing is live; Portland examples there include NE 42nd Ave, SE Division St, SE Hawthorne Blvd, N Lombard St, S Macadam Ave, NW Yeon Ave. Use that listing or the locator — we do not invent a missing city page. | Dedicated Portland virtual-address page. Examples include NW Yeon Ave, N Vancouver Way, S Macadam Ave, N Lombard St, NE 42nd Ave, NE Broadway St. | VPM: no Oregon hub. PostScan: confirm the locator. Traveling Mailbox: not a Portland hub. |
| Tampa | Dedicated city page. Map examples include Fowler Ave, Village Dr, Zack St, Bruce B. Downs Blvd, Florida Ave. | Dedicated Tampa virtual-address page. Examples include Bruce B. Downs Blvd, Fowler Ave, Florida Ave, Zack St, Dale Mabry Highway, N Ashley Dr. | VPM Florida hub is Brandon (they describe it as about 11 miles east of downtown Tampa), not Tampa. Tampa is not Miami. Florida snowbird forwarding (St. Brendan’s Isle) is a different product. PostScan: confirm the locator. Traveling Mailbox: not a Tampa hub. |
Anytime Mailbox city pages: Dallas, San Francisco, Boston, Tampa. Portland: no dedicated city slug today; use the Oregon listing. US map: lp.anytimemailbox.com/locations/map. iPostal1 still says 4,250+ locations worldwide; that count is theirs, not a street-by-street audit.
iPostal1 also publishes a registered-agent add-on in listed states. Their city pages today listed TX, MA, and FL among those states — not California or Oregon. A mailbox in Dallas, Boston, or Tampa is still not automatically an RA appointment. Confirm the shop is actually registered as an agent and keep the two products on separate fields. See registered agent plus mailbox. Source: the state list on those iPostal1 city pages (their dedicated registered-agent page was behind a bot check when we fetched it).
Nearby hubs that are not the city
Company-run scanning hubs get used as if they were downtown. They are not.
- VirtualPostMail Keller, TX — DFW suburb, not Dallas (and not Houston). If you need a Dallas PMB for pickup or a Dallas-looking line, Keller does not do that job. Source: VPM addresses.
- VirtualPostMail Brandon, FL — VPM’s own Florida mailbox page is the Brandon hub (they describe it as about 11 miles east of downtown Tampa). That is a Florida street address with in-house scanning. It is not a Tampa or Miami mail center. Source: VPM Brandon / Florida.
- VirtualPostMail Covina, CA — already documented as not Los Angeles. It is also not San Francisco. VPM lists five mailbox hubs: Covina CA, Claymont DE, Brandon FL, Henderson NV, Keller TX. No SF, Boston, Portland, or Tampa hub on that page. Source: VPM addresses.
- Traveling Mailbox — company-run scanning, home base Sanford, NC on their existing pages. Useful if you want one operator and do not care about a local pickup door. Not a substitute for a Dallas, SF, Boston, Portland, or Tampa storefront.
- Tampa is not Miami. Florida snowbird mail (St. Brendan’s Isle, Clay County north of Jacksonville) is a different product. See RV and snowbird mail forwarding. Do not treat a Tampa PMB as Miami presence or as RV domicile mail.
VPM still warns that its mailbox SKU is not for banking. We do not claim otherwise. See banks, Stripe, Mercury.
What “downtown” still is
iPostal1 FAQ on the first city list: about 90% of locations are Standard at the published $9.99 / $14.99 base; Select +$10, Premium +$20, Prestige +$30 per month. Check current pricing. Downtown Dallas (Pacific, Oak Lawn), San Francisco (Sansome, Geary, Post), Boston (Tremont, Boylston, Government Center), and Tampa (Zack St, N Ashley Dr) shops land in the expensive buckets when they are available. Anytime Mailbox location cards set their own rent. Their Dallas, San Francisco, Boston, and Tampa city pages listed monthly figures that varied by street when reviewed; believe the live card, not the homepage average. Check current pricing before you subscribe.
You still complete Form 1583. You still use PMB or #. Banks still can flag the building as a CMRA. A Sansome Street mail center does not convert a CMRA into a lease. A Brandon hub does not make you a Tampa resident. An SF prestige location is still a CMRA.
Pickup vs scan-only
The reason to pay city rent is often same-day pickup, a local UPS/FedEx stop, or a return drop. Confirm hours and ID required to pick up, whether the virtual-mailbox plan includes pickup or the store charges extra, and whether registered mail still requires a trip to the Post Office (USPS says you must collect Registered Mail at the Post Office, not the CMRA).
If you will never set foot in Dallas or Boston, a city PMB is a vanity line plus whatever scan SLA that franchisee meets. A Sanford, NC or Brandon, FL hub may scan faster because that is their whole business. Pay city rent when you will use the door.
Local business licensing
Using a city PMB on a website does not register you with that city. A mailbox provider’s checkout is not a municipal license.
- Dallas — The city does not publish a single general “business license” the way some cities do. Occupying a building still requires a Certificate of Occupancy. A PMB is not that. Source: City of Dallas Certificate of Occupancy.
- San Francisco — Engaging in business in the city requires a Business Registration Certificate from the Office of the Treasurer & Tax Collector. A Geary Street PMB does not file that for you. Source: SF.gov business registration.
- Boston — A Business Certificate through the City Clerk is required for businesses operating there, and Boston’s own page says you cannot use a virtual address or a post office box as the business location. Source: Boston.gov business certificate.
- Portland, OR — Business activity in the city generally means registering for a Revenue Division tax account (Portland Business License Tax). A Hawthorne PMB is not that registration. Source: Portland.gov business tax.
- Tampa — Operating in the city generally means a Local Business Tax Receipt from the City of Tampa Business Tax Division. A Fowler Avenue PMB is not that receipt. Source: tampa.gov/business-tax.
If you are actually doing business in that city, look up that city’s current rules. Related: NYC, Austin, Miami, Chicago, Seattle · LA, Houston, Denver, Phoenix, Atlanta · fees · provider comparison · KYC caveats · LLC mailing address · RV / snowbird mail.
