Nine rounds of city addresses: still CMRAs, still not a lease
A New Orleans or Tucson PMB is a staffed mail center on a map, not a tax election and not a bank-approval charm. Networks list locations in all five of these cities. Inventory turns over. Open the provider’s finder and read that row’s monthly price, scan fees, and whether pickup is allowed before you print letterhead.

The Louisiana / New Orleans listing path is live; New Orleans city examples there include Allen Toussaint Blvd, Crowder Blvd, Gentilly Blvd, Magazine Street, Opelousas Ave, Poydras St, and St Charles Ave. Metairie Rd / Veterans Blvd rows are Jefferson Parish suburbs, not an Orleans Parish Magazine Street / Poydras door. Examples include Gentilly Blvd, Allen Toussaint Blvd, Camp Street, St Charles Ave, S Claiborne Ave, Crowder Blvd. | VPM: no Louisiana hub. PostScan: confirm the locator. Traveling Mailbox: not a New Orleans hub. Metairie / Marrero / Kenner rows are not a New Orleans street address unless the street and city say so. |

The Arizona / Tucson listing path is live but mixes statewide Arizona inventory; Tucson city examples there include Grant Rd, Houghton Rd, Oracle Rd, River Rd, Speedway Blvd, Sunrise Dr, Swan Rd, and Tanque Verde Rd. Do not treat a Phoenix Central Ave or Mesa University Dr row on that same listing as Tucson. | Dedicated Tucson virtual-address page. | Albuquerque | Dedicated slug /albuquerque-nm returned 404 on 6 Sep 2026. The New Mexico / Albuquerque listing path is live; Albuquerque city examples there include Vista Oeste NW. Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, Las Cruces, Clovis, and Truth or Consequences rows on statewide New Mexico inventory are separate cities, not a Vista Oeste / Menaul Albuquerque door. | Dedicated Albuquerque virtual-address page. Examples include 4th St, Vista Oeste St, Coors Bypass Blvd, Menaul Blvd, Indian School Rd. | VPM: no New Mexico hub. PostScan: confirm the locator. Traveling Mailbox: not an Albuquerque hub. | Omaha | Dedicated slug /omaha-ne returned 404 on 6 Sep 2026. The Nebraska / Omaha listing path is live; Omaha city examples there include Ames Ave. Lincoln O St / Plantation Dr rows on that same listing are not Omaha. | Dedicated slug /omaha-ne-virtual-address.php returned a page-error body on 6 Sep 2026. Use the iPostal1 locator rather than inventing an Omaha city page that is not loading. Do not treat a Lincoln shop as Omaha. | VPM: no Nebraska hub. PostScan: confirm the locator. Traveling Mailbox: not an Omaha hub. Council Bluffs (Iowa) rows are not a Nebraska Omaha street address. See provider comparison. |
Anytime Mailbox: none of these five had a dedicated /city-st page on 6 Sep 2026; use the city listing paths above or the Louisiana, Alabama, Arizona, New Mexico, and Nebraska state listings. US map: lp.anytimemailbox.com/locations/map. iPostal1 still says 4,250+ locations worldwide; that count is theirs, not a street-by-street audit. Read the city and ZIP on the card — several of these Anytime “city” paths still dump statewide inventory on one page, and the iPostal Omaha dedicated city slug was broken on the review date.
iPostal1 also publishes a registered-agent add-on in listed states. A New Orleans, Birmingham, Tucson, Albuquerque, or Omaha mailbox is still not automatically an RA appointment. Confirm the shop is actually registered as an agent and keep the two products on separate fields. See registered agent plus mailbox.
Nearby hubs that are not the city
Company-run scanning hubs get used as if they were downtown. They are not.
- VirtualPostMail hubs overall — Covina CA, Claymont DE, Brandon FL, Henderson NV, Keller TX. No New Orleans, Birmingham, Tucson, Albuquerque, or Omaha hub on that page. Source: VPM addresses.
- Metairie / Kenner vs New Orleans — A Veterans Blvd or Metairie Rd row is Jefferson Parish. It is not a Magazine Street / Poydras / St Charles Ave Orleans Parish storefront.
- Lincoln vs Omaha — An O St or Plantation Dr Lincoln row is not an Ames Ave Omaha door.
- Traveling Mailbox / Sanford, NC — useful if you want one operator and do not care about a local pickup door. Not a substitute for a New Orleans, Birmingham, Tucson, Albuquerque, or Omaha storefront. See provider comparison.
VPM still warns that its mailbox SKU is not for banking. We do not claim otherwise. See banks, Stripe, Mercury.
What “downtown” still is
iPostal1 FAQ on the first city list: about 90% of locations are Standard at the published $9.99 / $14.99 base; Select +$10, Premium +$20, Prestige +$30 per month. Check current pricing. Downtown New Orleans (Magazine Street / St Charles Ave / Poydras), Birmingham (19th Street North / 20th St), Tucson (Speedway Blvd / Broadway / Swan Rd), Albuquerque (4th St / Menaul / Coors Bypass), and Omaha (Ames Ave) shops land in the expensive buckets when they are available. Anytime Mailbox location cards set their own rent — the Birmingham 19th Street North card showed a higher starting rent than the Doug Baker Blvd card on the review date. Believe the live card, not the homepage average. Check current pricing before you subscribe.
You still complete Form 1583. You still use PMB or #. Banks still can flag the building as a CMRA. A Magazine Street mail center does not convert a CMRA into a lease. A Metairie suburb does not make you a New Orleans resident. A Tucson prestige location is still a CMRA.
Pickup vs scan-only
The reason to pay city rent is often same-day pickup, a local UPS/FedEx stop, or a return drop. Confirm hours and ID required to pick up, whether the virtual-mailbox plan includes pickup or the store charges extra, and whether registered mail still requires a trip to the Post Office (USPS says you must collect Registered Mail at the Post Office, not the CMRA).
If you will never set foot in New Orleans or Tucson, a city PMB is a vanity line plus whatever scan SLA that franchisee meets. A company hub in another state may scan faster because that is their whole business. Pay city rent when you will use the door.
Local business licensing
Using a city PMB on a website does not register you with that city. A mailbox provider’s checkout is not a municipal license.
- New Orleans — Businesses operating in Orleans Parish generally need an Occupational License through the city’s One Stop permitting system, plus Louisiana Secretary of State filing where it applies. A Magazine Street or Poydras PMB is not that license. Source: nola.gov occupational license · onestopapp.nola.gov.
- Birmingham — Businesses with activity inside the city generally register with the Finance Department’s Tax and License Division (Application for Tax Certificate), after location approval from Planning. A 19th Street North or Doug Baker Blvd PMB is not that registration. Source: birminghamal.gov Tax and License Division.
- Tucson — Businesses operating in the city generally need a City of Tucson business license through the License Section; Arizona transaction privilege tax licenses are handled separately by the Arizona Department of Revenue. A Speedway Blvd or Broadway PMB is not that city license. Source: tucsonaz.gov Apply for a Business License · azdor.gov businesses.
- Albuquerque — As of mid-2025 the city moved from business registration to a Business License requirement for places of business inside city limits, processed through ABQ-PLAN, with a current NM Taxation & Revenue registration certificate. A Vista Oeste or Menaul PMB is not that license. Source: cabq.gov Business License Information · Business License FAQs.
- Omaha — The city states it does not issue a single general business license; activity-specific occupation taxes and permits still apply under local code, plus Nebraska Secretary of State registration. An Ames Ave PMB is not that registration or occupation-tax filing. Source: Omaha ONEBiz licenses and permits · cityclerk.cityofomaha.org licenses note.
