Good Sam Mail Service for RVers: how the Crestview, Florida address works

Good Sam Mail Service is an RV mail forwarding service at 5753 Hwy 85 North in Crestview, Florida (Okaloosa County, in the Panhandle off I-10). Its own company page says the mail is handled by MyRVmail, which opened in 2003, and its terms and conditions are MyRVmail’s. You get one Florida street address with a box number that takes mail and packages, scans of what’s inside, and the option to pause your account. This page covers the plans, the fee table, how the address works for Florida residency, and where its pages say more than the state does. Everything was checked on 29 Oct 2026 from Good Sam Mail Service’s pages and Florida state and Okaloosa County sources. It is not legal advice.

The short version. Premium is $24.90 a month or $249 a year, or $22.41 / $224.10 if you belong to the Good Sam Club. Add a one-time $35 setup fee and a postage deposit of at least $30. It includes 20 free content scans a month, and the plan says no fees for incoming packages and no storage fees. Every shipment costs postage plus a handling fee, and the site doesn’t publish that handling amount, so ask before you sign up. The address can be part of becoming a Florida resident, but you have to go to Okaloosa County in person for a license, and Florida’s elections office has warned that mail-service customers who have never lived in a county are “most likely not legal residents” of it for voting.

Plans and prices (checked 29 Oct 2026)

From the pricing section of Good Sam Mail Service’s home page. Member prices need a Good Sam Club membership, and the member discount doesn’t apply to the Business plan.

Premium$24.90 ($22.41 Good Sam member)$249.00 ($224.10 Good Sam member)20 free content scans a month (no page limit), check deposits $4.95 each

The extra fees (from the Good Sam Mail Service FAQ)

Every shipment is postage plus handling. Some postage is a fixed flat rate and the rest is “actual postage” based on weight and distance. The handling amount itself isn’t listed on the public pages.

ChargeAmount
USPS Priority Flat Rate Envelope$13.90 plus handling
USPS Priority Medium / Large Flat Rate Box$25.80 / $36.10 plus handling
FedEx 2 Day One Rate Envelope / Pak$13.85 / $17.28 plus handling
Scan beyond your monthly free scans$2.50 per letter (by end of business day)
Urgent scan (within 30 minutes)$4.50 per letter
Overweight package (10 lb or more)$10.00 plus $1.00 per pound over 10 lb
Combining several packages into one box$5.00
Repacking package contents$12.50 domestic, $25.00 international
Extra packing tape$2.00, $3.00 or $4.00 by level

The FAQ says most members choose FedEx 2 Day One Rate, which fits about 25 to 30 pieces of mail. USPS First-Class is the cheapest option but has no tracking and only works under 13 oz.

A first year on paper

Using only the published numbers, a yearly Premium plan is $284 the first year ($249 + $35), or $259.10 for a Good Sam member ($224.10 + $35), before postage, handling and club dues. As an example of our own math, not a quote: a member who has mail sent once a month in a FedEx 2 Day One Rate Pak would spend about 12 × $17.28 = $207.36 on postage, plus 12 handling fees whose amount isn’t posted. How it works day to day

Going back home later

The FAQ is honest about this one: USPS won’t forward mail from a business address back to a house. If you travel part of the year, file a temporary USPS forward to Good Sam, which ends on its own. If you go full-time with a permanent change of address and later settle down, you’ll have to update each sender yourself. More in the snowbird and RV mail forwarding guide.

Using the address for Florida residency

You don’t have to become a Florida resident to use the service. The FAQ says most customers use it as a mailing address only. If you do want Florida as your home state, here is what Good Sam says, and what the state and county say.

What Good Sam’s residency page tells you to do

What Florida and Okaloosa County say

Voting and jury duty

Good Sam doesn’t promise anything here. Its FAQ just gives the Okaloosa County Supervisor of Elections number, (850) 689-5600 (main office at 302 N Wilson St, Crestview, in the same building as the tax office). That’s the right call. In opinion DE 18-09 (2018), Florida’s Division of Elections said a residence “cannot be a commercial mailbox” and that mail-service customers with no past or present physical presence in a county are “most likely not legal residents” of it for voter registration. That opinion was about a Clay County service, but the reasoning is statewide. Good Sam’s residency page also says a Declaration of Domicile alone isn’t enough and has to be backed by actually living there. On jury duty, Good Sam emails you when a summons arrives, and Florida pulls jurors from driver license and ID records. More: voting by mail for RVers and jury duty for full-time RVers.

Banks and passports (their claims)

The FAQ says most banks take the address, but big banks like Wells Fargo, Capital One and Bank of America often refuse commercial addresses except as a mailing address, and some members use a relative’s home address for those. It also says you can use the address for a U.S. passport, sometimes leaving off the PMB. These are Good Sam’s statements, not bank or State Department policy. What federal rules actually ask banks for: IRS mail, refunds and banks for full-time RVers.
