RV mail forwarding services, compared with published facts

If you live in an RV or snowbird between states, you need someone to catch USPS (and often UPS/FedEx), hold it, scan it or ship a packet to the next campground. The long-time RV forwarders and the app-first virtual mailboxes solve that differently. This page lists what each provider published on their own sites on 11 Oct 2026. It is not a ranking and not tax advice.

A mailbox is not a domicile. Texas, Florida, and South Dakota mail services market addresses that people use while establishing residency paperwork. Voting, driver licenses, vehicle titles, and state income tax look at where you actually live and your intent. A PMB on a CMRA street does not by itself make you a resident. Ask a tax or legal professional for your facts — not a mailbox company, and not this site.

How to choose without a “best” list

  1. Need a TX / FL / SD story for DMV and mail? Read Escapees, America's Mailbox, St. Brendan's Isle, Good Sam Mail Service, American Home Base, or DakotaPost — then verify what your county DMV actually accepts.
  2. Need scans on a phone more than a domicile state? Traveling Mailbox, iPostal1, or Anytime Mailbox fit that job.
  3. Budget the postage fund. The monthly or yearly plan is rarely the whole bill. Packets to campgrounds add postage + handling every time.
  4. Form 1583 is required for CMRA mail. Budget notary time. See Form 1583 and notary.
  5. Do not file a USPS change-of-address away from a CMRA later — USPS will not process that; the CMRA must remail.

Packages and prescriptions on the road

RV forwarders and virtual mailboxes both receive many carrier packages, with shop-specific bans (perishables, hazmat, etc.). Prescriptions and temperature-sensitive items are a special case — ask the pharmacy and the mail service before you redirect a cold-chain shipment. Deeper package notes: checks and packages.
